About superstitions!!

1.Some people in the United States think a four-leaf clover is “lucky.” What do you think are five lucky things ion your country?

→A crane, turtle, carp, Maneki-neko and New Year’s decorative pinebranches are lucky things in my country.

2.Many people in the United States believe if you walk under a ladder, you will have bad luck. What are five things people in your country believe bring bad luck?

→A black cat, five-leaf clover, crow, broken mirror and number of 4 are people in my country believe bring bad luck.

3.What might happen if you break s mirror, spill salt, or sweep an unmarried woman’s feet?

→If I break a mirror, I will think that a horrible sight was reflected in it.
If I spill Salt, the bad things will come up.
If I sweep an unmarried woman’s feet, I will be past marriageable age.

4.What might happen if you put shoes on a table, let a black cat walk in front of you, or open an umbrella in house?

→If I put shoes on a table, dinner will taste bad.
If a blake cat walk in my front of me, the not good things will come up tome.
If I open an umbrella in a house, It will rains the next day.

5.Are there any superstitions in your country? Name five.

→Blowing a whistle in a house at night.
Cutting one’s nails at night.
You must not kill a spider in the morning.
A fool doesn’t have a cold.
When you saw a hearse, you had to hide your thumb.

Who told you about the superstitions that you know? What did that person say?

My mother told me about blowing a whistle in a house at night. She said that a snake will come to my house if you blow a whistle in the evening! So you must not blow it.
